Housing Assistance

CARES is able to provide short term assistance with rent, mortgage, and utilities for clients living with HIV who have qualifying life circumstances and meet eligibility guidelines. For more information, please reach out to your case manager about your specific situation to determine if you meet criteria and to learn what documentation you will need to provide.

CARES’ HIV+ clients may work with their case manager to locate affordable housing and to apply for various housing programs in the region. CARES is often able to assist with new housing costs to ensure clients can access this affordable housing. Unhoused clients referred through the Davidson county Coordinated Entry System are able to participate in the Rapid Rehousing Program to obtain housing while they work to establish a sustainable long term housing plan. Unhoused clients should work with their case manager to be referred to the Unhoused Services Program.

For housing assistance contact your case manager by calling them directly or by calling the HEARTLine at 1-800-845-4266.
