WE ARE HERE TO HELP
Nashville CARES offers people living with HIV/AIDS and their families a unique combination of services, resources and referrals to help with the challenges of the disease. All services are based upon need regardless of ability to pay.
We provide several transportation resources to help you get to medical and social services appointments. The services include MTA bus passes and gas cards.
FOOD & NUTRITION
A variety of dietary assistance programs are available to help meet your nutritional needs. These services include food bags, open-and-eat food bags, choice food pantry and home delivered meals.
Short-term financial help is available for rent, utility deposits and/or bills. You must meet with your case manager to determine whether or not you qualify for assistance.
Direct Client Care is a volunteer program that helps you with work around the house. Services include simple house cleaning, landscaping and shopping. These services are available on a one-time basis or long-term.
Insurance assistance is available for people living with HIV/AIDS across the state of Tennessee. The program pays for insurance premiums, co-pays, and deductibles.
The HEARTline (1-800-845-4266) is a confidential and free phone and walk-in information and referral service. Trained operators answer questions, tell you about services, and help you get connected to services to help meet your needs.
Case management links you to resources and services that address health, emotional, financial and personal issues associated with HIV/AIDS.
HealthyU (Healthy University) consists of educational programs and social groups for people living with HIV/AIDS. These programs give you an opportunity to get HIV education, develop healthy life skills and create a supportive bond with others.
