Nashville CARES Announces Sanford Bloch Memorial Fund for Direct Services

Monday, October 29, 2012

Nashville, TN – On October 20, 2012, Sanford Bloch passed away due to a series of AIDS-related illnesses.  Sandy was the life partner of Joseph Interrante, CEO of Nashville CARES, who has dedicated his life to HIV/AIDS prevention, care and advocacy.  Diagnosed with AIDS in 1992, he moved with Joe to Nashville when the latter became CEO in 1994.  They had been together for more than 25 years.

Please join the Nashville CARES Board of Directors and staff as we honor Sandy’s memory with creation of the Sanford Bloch Memorial Fund for Direct Services.  Despite much progress, Sandy’s death reminds us that the fight against AIDS is far from over.  Your gift to his memorial fund will help us continue the vital services that helped Sandy deal with the challenges of living with AIDS.
