Nationally, ½ of all new HIV infections are among people under the age of 25. A second generation of young Middle Tennesseans is now vulnerable to HIV, where nearly 1 in 4 new infections occur. Young people make healthier choices when guided by age, ethnicity and sexual preference appropriate peers providing them with accurate, scientifically based information in comfortable settings. CARES prevention meets these needs through a variety of programs offering an array of needed services:
