HIV among women in Middle Tennessee has tripled over the past 10 years. Currently, women make up almost 1 of every 3 new HIV infections here. Specific social, educational, environmental and personal challenges exist for women in relation to HIV/AIDS. These are addressed through 3 distinct CARES programs:
- Sista 2 Sista © - women can access an array of prevention intervention information and services in female safe spaces, learn how, where, when and why. Learn more about this program. Learn More
- SHEARS United © - information and counseling and testing services are offered in African American owned and operated barber shops, beauty and nail salons – which one is for you? Learn more about this program. Learn More
- Project Embrace © - provides individualized education, services support and group work through monthly luncheons for women living with HIV. Join us for lunch and learn more! Learn more about this program. Learn More
