Three major community events raise funds for Nashville CARES annually and raise awareness that HIV/AIDS remains a public health challenge locally. Contributions support HIV prevention education reaching nearly 50,000 people from every walk of life, and support services for more than 2,400 men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS. Nashville CARES is a charitable corporation and serves 17 counties of northern Middle Tennessee.
Volunteers, sponsors, and donations welcome for all events. For more info, email Susan Kastan, Director of Marketing & Events, or phone 615-259-4866 x251.
Nashville AIDS Walk --- Saturday, October 2, 2010
Sign up today at www.NashvilleAIDSWalk.com
The Nashville AIDS Walk mobilizes individuals and teams from business and community groups to ask friends, family and colleagues to contribute to Nashville CARES and help fight HIV and AIDS locally. Walkers begin organizing and networking as soon as they sign up, with most fundraising by volunteers taking place June through September.
The AIDS Walk is a relatively easy 3 miles in the park and downtown streets. Free, family-friendly festivities include a Community Health & Wellness Fair, kids' activities, a shorter infield walk, refreshments and stage entertainment. The 2009 event, held Sept 26, raised $185,000 to fight HIV/AIDS locally. Thanks to all who contributed and took part.
Please email or phone Susan at 615-259-4866 x251 if you are interested in sponsorship or team organization, or if you would like a presentation about the Nashville AIDS Walk at your workplace, congregation, school or other group.

www.artrageous.org or email Susan Meador, Artrageous administrator
Artrageous includes evening fine-art gallery openings with refreshments at selected galleries around town, followed by a lively music and dance party. Artrageous benefits Nashville CARES exclusively, raising funds through Host Committee ticket and transportation packages, gallery contributions of a share of art sales, sponsorships, and general-admission ticket sales. The event is run by volunteers of Artrageous, Inc., a non-profit group established in 1987 to raise funds for the fight against HIV/AIDS in response to the devastating impact of the epidemic on the arts community.
Dining Out For Life took place April 27, 2010. Thanks to all who participated! You raised a record $96,000. The event website lists 2010 restaurants & sponsors: www.DiningOutForLife.com/Nashville. Please show them some love year-round. Click here for TV coverage from NewsChannel 5 highlighting that the challenges of living with HIV can be met with grace and courage -- when people have access to good support systems and care.
Dining Out for Life is a one-day event when area restaurants contribute a generous portion of food and non-alcoholic beverage sales to Nashville CARES. Thousands dine that day at participating restaurants. Volunteer "hosts" organize friends, family or colleagues to patronize a specific restaurant and help ensure a good crowd. Others help with publicity and logistics. Phone or email Jenean Davis at Nashville CARES (615) 259-4866 x291 if you are interested in being a Dining Out For Life restaurant, volunteer or sponsor in April, 2011.
