Nashville CARES offers programs to provide both insurance and dental assistance to person’s living with HIV/AIDS. These services are provided in the 42 counties of both Middle and Southwest Tennessee. (See “About Nashville CARES – Areas of Service”.)
The Insurance Assistance Program (IAP) pays for premiums, co-pays and deductibles.
The Dental Assistance Program pays for dental care as prescribed in a Treatment Plan developed by one of several participating dentists.
How to get these services:
Clients experiencing difficulties in meeting either of these needs should discuss this with their medical care manager. Medical care managers are social workers who work at one of the medical AIDS Centers of Excellence throughout the regions. Clients without an assigned medical care manager should discuss their insurance or dental needs with a case manager at CARES for referral to a medical care manager. The Medical Care Manager will complete a program application with the client and forward it to CARES. Once the application has been processed and approved by Nashville CARES the client will be contacted with details on how to begin services.
