Robert Adams, MBA, has been Chief Financial Officer for Nashville CARES since 1992. He was a Fund Distribution Associate with United Way of Metropolitan Nashville for two years (1991-1992) before joining Nashville CARES. Adams has managed a department of increasing complexity, responsibility and accountability as the agency budget has grown from less than $1 million to more than $6 million. He also provides oversight for the Insurance and Dental Assistance Programs and represents the agency on the Ryan White Community AIDS Partnership Steering Committee and the Memphis HIV/AIDS Planning Council.
Paula Foster, LCSW, came to CARES in 2002 to become Director of Practical and Emotional Support. She has more than 21 years of experience in the social work and counseling fields and 16 specifically in HIV/AIDS services. Foster supervises Propject HEART and the HEARTLine, outpatient alcohol and drug abuse treatment, mental health, CARE Team, and nutrition services. She is currently Board Chair of the Tennessee Chapter of NASW.
Kate Haygood is Director of Marketing and Volunteers. She was an education volunteer with the agency's First Person program before joining Development staff in 2003, where she planned and coordinated special events. Haygood manages all aspects of the agency's volunteer programs as well as the agency's marketing/community awareness activities.
Susan Kastan, MA, joined CARES as Director of Development in 2006. She has more than 25 years of fundraising experience in university, performing arts, and social service settings. Kastan has also consulted with a variety of organizations on program development, fundraising, and leadership development, and teaches fundraising concepts and practices at New York University. She oversees all aspects of CARES fundraising activities, including direct contributions, major gifts, special events, and corporate, religious, and foundation giving.
Patrick Luther, MHS, has been Director of Prevention Education since 2000. He has more than 18 years experience in HIV program design, implementation and evaluation. Prior to joining CARES, Luther managed HIV training and education for a nine-county consortium of substance abuse treatment facilities in upstate New York. Luther provides planning, supervision, and evaluation for the agency’s nine targeted prevention programs as well as the HIV Counseling and Testing and HIV Screening initiatives and Early Intervention Services. He represents the agency as the Co-Chair of the Middle Tennessee Regional Prevention Community Planning Group.
Sean Muldoon, LCSW, has been with Nashville CARES since 1995 and the Director of Case Management Services since 1998. He has more than 27 years of clinical and progressively responsible administrative experience in the mental health, substance abuse treatment and social work fields and 12 years specifically in HIV/AIDS services. Muldoon supervises case management, housing and financial assistance services. He also represents the agency on the Ryan White Community AIDS Partnership (where he chairs the Committee on Services and Community Needs).
